Letter Writing Camp Comes to Austin Children’s Museum

The art of the letter.  It’s a means of communication that isn’t commonly used these days, especially with our kids.  Email, text messaging, video chatting and Facebook, while easy and efficient when it comes to communication with loved ones who we don’t see often, lack the same person touch of a handwritten letter.

Next month, (2/20) Make Stuff Together (a crafty local blog/book and craftmaking collective) is putting on a one day camp dedicated to stationary making and letter writing at Austin Children’s Museum!

Activities include:

- Making personalized note cards using stitching, collage and stamps

- Origami envelopes

- Stationary boxes

- Reading through old letters from the 20s and 30s

- Discussions about mail and letter writing

- Letter writing

Register here, and for more information, check out Future Craft Collective’s site.
