GrowinTogether is a nonprofit after school program dedicated to helping your child grow in the creative arts while learning valuable information on timely issues such as permaculture, sustainability and nutrition. If this sounds like something that is up your alley, they’re holding an Eco-Art Fest this Saturday, August 18 from 6 -10 pm at their EcoSchool to familiarize you with their programs.
Kids can check out some of the finest youth artists like local band Only Human, the Chi-Town breakers and musician Sam Hammerman. Poets from They Speak Youth Poetry Slam will be serving up some slam and kids can make art from recycled materials and partake in permaculture workshops. An amazing group of people known as the Food is Free project will be there showing you how to make your garden grow. If you haven’t heard of Food is Free, check them out. Our friends from The Little Yoga House will be there too! FREE local food will be served at this FREE local event, why wouldn’t you go?
