Barbecue Restaurant Owner Helps Out Animal Shelter

Co-owner of Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor, Wayne Mueller, has been saving bones that people leave on their plates at his restaurant. Instead of selling them to pet food stores like a lot of money-grubbing business owners would, he took the 750 bones he had collected to the Williamson County Animal Shelter and for the first time in a long time, silence fell over the shelter as the dogs gnawed on the donated treasure. The shelter has 200 pounds worth of bones that will last them for a few weeks. How cool is that! Our hats are off to you, Mr. Mueller. Check out all the pictures of happy dogs here, via the Statesmen.
