Here are our top 10 Austin family events…
— Get those gifts wrapped for FREE at the Capital One Quicksilver Holiday Wrapping Truck, who will be parked at the Barton Creek Square Mall today from 12 – 5 pm. They’ll wrap all of your gifts, all of ’em, while you stay warm with hot chocolate. Our friends from MILK (Moms I’d Like to Know) will be hosting a gift wrapping showdown where you can win a $500 gift card! Details here.
— Let the kids live out their LEGO dreams and sign them up for the Kidz Night Out event at Bricks 4 Kids Creativity Center in Round Rock. From 6 – 9 pm, ages 5 – 12 can build, build, build to their heart’s content. There will be games and pizza too! $25, register here.
— Play with tiny animals and get a free picture to prove it at Millie & Mox for their Awesome Animal Mornings. Hold and learn about bunnies, hedgehogs, chicks, chinchillas, bearded dragons, ducklings and more! Free, from 10 – 11 am.
— Big Frog Custom T-Shirts is having their 2nd Anniversary Party where you can not only get a picture with Santa, you can then get that Santa picture printed on a T-shirt, all for free! Enjoy a saxophone quartet and snacks while you get your shirt printed. The party is from 10 am – 2 pm, see ya there!
— Get away with your family before all of your other holiday obligations by booking a room at the Horseshoe Bay Resort and taking in all of their special holiday programming like a Children’s Holiday Laser Light Show, Holiday Concert Dinners and horse-drawn carriage rides. The resort offers childcare as well and they’re doing a special Club HSB where you can get your groove thing on and not have to worry about the kids. Read all about it!
— Don’t miss the final performance of Holiday Heroes at ZACH Theatre, playing at 11 am. Now in its 14th year due to popular demand, this hilariously fun holiday sing-along will surely get your family into the spirit of the season. Tickets are $14 for kids and $16 for adults, you can buy them here.
— DO NOT MISS the special Abel’s North Pole event at the newly opened Abel’s North Grill and Tap House. Kids can take a train ride, decorate sugar cookies, bounce and slide on inflatables, watch holiday movies and get a picture with Santa. Parents can enjoy wine and spirit tasting while taking advantage of special food and drink specials. Admission is FREE with an unwrapped toy donation, stop by from 1 – 6 pm. Santa will be there from 2 – 5 pm.
— See a funny and magical improv show, told with puppets! Puppet Improv Project’s Elf Employment features musical comedy based on suggestions from the audience. Playing at the Institution Theater at 6 pm, get your $7 tickets here. Parking is free and there’s a donation bar!
— Get an adorable picture with Santa at the ridiculously cute children’s boutique, Millie & Mox, from 11 am – 5 pm. Angela Hession, owner of Millie & Mox, originally from Ireland, wanted to bring some Irish holiday traditions to Austin. In Ireland, Santa always gives small gifts to the kids, and there are little cottages that pop up all over the place, decorated to the nines in holiday cuteness. Check out their display and make plans to attend one of their Santa Workshops! Photos are just $10!
