— The Blanton Holiday Family Days at the Blanton Museum of Art will take you and your family to Augsburg, one of Germany’s oldest cities. You and the kids will learn the process of printmaking by creating your own set of greeting cards and playing gallery games. Children 12 and under are free, program is included with museum admission which is $9 for adults, ages 13 – 21 are $5, program is from 11 am – 4 pm.

— You can still go Ice Skating on the Plaza at Whole Foods Market Downtown from 11 am – 9 pm for $10/person.

— Take a little trip down to The Majestic and Empire Theatres in San Antonio for the record breaking Broadway holiday sensation, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. Showtimes are at 2 & 7 pm, tickets are $31 – $96 and you can get them here.


— Head to The Thinkery for stories, songs and activities designed for children ages 3 and under and their caregivers. Baby Bloomers will start at 9 am, $2.50 for members and $4.50 for non-members.

Sleep with the Sharks at the Austin Aquarium for $32.48/person (that’s half-off!). Guests will stay at the aquarium from 7:30 pm Saturday until 9:15 am Sunday. Take a nocturnal animals tour including shark and octopus viewing and feeding, plus a lot more behind the scenes peeks. Get your tickets here.

— The Big Don Kids Show is free at Strange Brew from 10 – 11 am. Big Don’s energetic show full of positive characters and classics like Humpty Dumpty will have the kids jumping and dancing.

— Compete in the Mario Kart Wii Tournament at the Twin Oaks Library for free! Recommended for ages 6 and up, adults are welcome to compete, starts at 2 pm.


— End your holiday week with a Flapjack Breakfast at Buzz Mill. Enjoy $7 bottomless flapjacks with house made bacon and scrambled eggs, a build-your-own bloody Mary bar and fresh squeezed orange juice for mimosas. Mmmmm… Starts at 10 am.

— Sign up for Family Day at Painting with a Twist and paint a Space Bee. Kids will get step by step instruction from a local artist and complete a specific painting. $25, sign up here, 12 – 1:30 pm.

— See some family friendly improv at the Clockwork Stories show at the Hideout Theatre at 2 pm. Kids will help playfully build a wondrous time machine and help decide where it goes. This interactive show is just $7, get your tickets here.
