– Tuesday, Dec. 10 –

Santa’s Workshop: Printmaking, ages 2 – 5 – You and your 2- to 5-year old child can make a little elf, create unique gift bags and cards, learn basic block printing skills, enjoy a story time and play festive games at Toybrary Austin. Class is from 10 – 11 am, $10, register here.

– Wednesday, Dec. 11 –

Free Carriage Rides – Enjoy a free carriage ride for donations of new, unwrapped toys benefiting Blue Santa from 6:30 – 10 pm at the Austin Central Fire Station no. 1 at 5th and Trinity.

– Thursday, Dec. 12 –

Elf Quote-a-Long – Spread Christmas cheer by singing and quoting loudly to Will Ferrell’s amazing lines in Elf at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz at 6:10 pm. Get your $12 tickets here.

Austin Handbell Ensemble Presents “Christmas Favorites: Past & Presents” – Enjoy a free concert from the Austin Handbell Ensemble at the Central Presbyterian Church at 12 pm. They will be performing at various locations through Monday, Dec. 16. Find all of their events here.

Lost Pines Christmas Day One – Lost Pines Christmas is a 4-day event in Historic Downtown Bastrop that features shopping, Santa, performances and the River of Lights display. Day One starts at 6 pm with a special wine and food tasting, followed by a chance to shop, rock and stroll. Various activities continue through the night, prices range from free – $40. La Pastorela 2013 “A Shepherdela’s Storia” – This bilingual play is an invitation to celebrate the holidays by gathering people from different origins, races, genders and ages to accompany shepherds on their way to their destination. This fun Christmas comedy features live music and an original stage design from renowned artist Claudia Montero. Playing at the MACC, tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 13 and younger and you can buy them here or at the theater box office.

– Friday, Dec. 13 –

Trim the Tree Story Time – Enjoy a Christmas tree-themed story time at The Art Garage and sing some fun holiday songs before picking out an ornament to paint. 10:45 am, $12, register by calling 512-852-9900.

Buda Trail of Lights – The Buda Trail of Lights opens at 6 pm at the Historic Stagecoach Park. Walk the decorated half-mile stretch of the park and take in the gorgeous light displays. Free to attend, paid concessions will be available.

– Saturday, Dec. 14 –

Puppet Improv Project’s “Elf Employment” – The Puppet Improv Project rings in the season with a relaunch of its musical Elf Employment. The colorful cast of imps and woodland creatures will get help from the audience and craft a story about the life of elves in Santa’s Workshop as they set out on an adventure through a winter wonderland. Starts at 6 pm at the Institution Theater, you can purchase your $7 tickets here or at the box office.

5th Annual Puerto Rican Christmas Fiesta – Enjoy a live performance from international salsa sensation, Charlie Cruz, the local talent of Orquesta Trabuko and a traditional performance from the Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance at the biggest “parranda” in Central Texas. Dance Salsa and explore Puerto Rican culture with the whole family! At Emo’s, 8 pm, tickets are $20 and can be purchased here, kids 12 and under are free.

Festival of Carols – Get into the holiday spirit with festive music performed by local school choirs! There will also be fun kids activities, a bounce house and refreshments. Free at the French Legation Museum from 1 – 5 pm.

Christmas Dreams & Snowy Things – Play in the snow at the CHASCO Family YMCA! Real snow will be brought in so you and the kids can enjoy snow-filled activities like snowball fights and sledding. There will be other fun stuff like a zip line, horse-drawn wagon rides, train rides, interactive holiday booths, concessions, Santa appearances and more. Free to attend, 9 am – 8 pm.

Holiday Heroes at ZACH Theatre –  Now in its 14th year due to popular demand, this hilariously fun holiday sing-a-long will get you and the kids in the Christmas spirit! Family Saturday: Gingerbread Houses – Be the ARTchitect of your very own candy home. Head to The Contemporary Austin Laguna Gloria for a family Saturday event where you can whip up an edible house like you’ve never seen before. Great for ages 2 – 11, $10 for non members, $5 for members, 11 am – 3 pm.

Amelia Bedelia Puppet Show – Join Bookpeople and their famous puppeteers as they perform a rendition of a story that features one of their favorite characters of all time, Amelia Bedelia. Free, 11:30 am at Bookpeople.

Holiday Fun at Horseshoe Bay Resort – Book a mini-vacay at the Horseshoe Bay Resort and take part in all of their holiday fun like the Holiday Concert Series and the Children’s Holiday Laser Light Show. White Christmas – Enjoy the classic film, White Christmas, at the Paramount Theatre. Starts at 7 pm, tickets are $11 and can be used as a double feature if you view something back-to-back on the same day. You can buy them here or at the box office.

Holiday Hoopla Family Holiday Party – A family party brought to you by the Bump Club and Beyond with lunch and treats for the whole family, including a sing and dance-along with Mr. Will, festive family photos, holiday cupcake decorating and more. At Foodie Kids Austin from 11 am – 1 pm, tickets are $25 for 1 adult and 1 child, $45 for 2 adults and 1 child + $10 for each additional child. Abel’s North Pole – A day of holiday fun at the new Abel’s North Grill and Tap House that will feature an inflatable slide, a bounce house, train rides, cookie decorating and photos with Santa. For the adults there will be complimentary wine tasting and food and drink specials. Admission is free with an unwrapped toy donation, 1 – 6 pm.
