ZACH Theatre presents Holiday Heroes, an awesome, interactive sing-along theatre experience that is perfect for kids ages 1 to 92. The show, now in it’s 14th year, is open to the public with showtimes at 11 am on Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 14.
Guest writer, Quel from Homegirl Blog checked it out last week and wants you to know that it is absolutely delightful! Here is what she thought…
Rufus and Ernie work against the clock to finish a holiday display in a department store before it opens in 30 minutes. During that time funny mishaps intersect with holiday songs and make for a fun, engaging show. There is lots of physical comedy and the perfect measure of opportunities for kids in the audience to shout and be silly and sing along with Rufus and Ernie (lovely tenors, by the way) to Christmas classics. An unexpected treat for me was the kid-sized lessons woven in about other Christmastime celebrations, Hanukkah and Kwanza! The show actually was a springboard for a conversation about those two holidays with my 5-year-old on the car ride home afterward. How’s that for an enriching theatre experience?
Here’s a video clip!
Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for kids and may be purchased here. When you buy your tickets I hope you’re ready for a heaping dose of laughs and some good ole holiday cheer.
Skip the movies and popcorn one of these Saturdays and enjoy a great time with your whole family at Holiday Heroes. You will be so happy you did.
