Santa at the Aquarium – Santa will be at the Austin Aquarium Friday, Dec. 13 from 3 – 7 pm and Saturday, Dec.14 from 1 – 5 pm. He’ll also stick around for the Public Sleep with the Sharks nights on Dec. 20, 21 and 22 from 9 – 10 pm. Free for members!
Breakfast with Santa at the Arboretum – Enjoy breakfast with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, story time, holiday arts & crafts, face painting, and more – and capture the moment with a photo! The event will be held in the restaurant park area by Brio, Blue Baker, and Estancia Churrascaria on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 am – 12 pm. Afternoon with Santa at the Driskill – Take it upscale with your Santa photo this year while you listen to live entertainment from Joe McDermott, decorate cookies and make holiday crafts at the Driskill Hotel. Photos are free, but reservations are required and the cost is $25 per person. Please call 512-439-1234 to make a reservation.
Free Santa Picture on a T-Shirt at the Big Frog 2nd Anniversary Party – Big Frog South Austin will celebrate its second anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 am – 2 pm. Eat some sweets, listen to a saxophone quartet play holiday tunes and pose with Santa. Then get your Santa photo printed on a white shirt. (1 FREE per household, additional shirts are $10).
Pictures-n-Pitchers at the AGBG – Head to the Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company and bring your 2- and 4-legged friends on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 12:30 – 4:30 pm to get your picture taken with an “Austin-centric Santa.” Get a photo for $10 or pay $20 for a photo AND a pitcher of ABGB beer. All proceeds go to Austin Boxer Rescue.
Christmas Dreams and Snowy Things – It’ll be snowing at the Boles Family Sports Complex (CHASCO YMCA) in Round Rock on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 am – 8 pm. Frolic in the real snow –- brought in by the truckload – at the inaugural Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships Christmas Dreams & Snowy Things event. This FREE event will not only feature snow-filled activities, but also giant slides, paintball, tango tower & zip line, horse-drawn wagon rides, Blue Santa Donation Station, train rides, interactive holiday booths (including decorating your own stockings, Santa hats and cookies / writing letters to Santa), inflatables and rides, concessions, live music featuring choirs from eight area elementary schools and an appearance by Santa himself! Abel’s North Pole – Bring the family to Abel’s North: Grill and Tap House on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 1 – 6 pm. Kids can enjoy an inflatable slide, bounce house, train rides, cookie decorating, and photos with Santa! Meanwhile, adults can sip the day away with complimentary wine tasting and food and drink specials throughout the day. Admission is free with an unwrapped toy to support Gateway Church and their Giving Tree Project.
