Today:

— See the Secret World of Arrietty for free at Laura’s Library for Friday Family Films day. Starts at 4 pm.

— The Ben Hur Shrine Circus starts today at the Cedar Park Center with its first show at 7:30 pm. There will also be a kick-off event, Brunch with the Elephants, at 12 pm. Tickets for the circus are $9 – $35 and can be purchased here. The brunch event is free!

— Go out for a Family Bingo Night at the Emmaus Parish Life Center. An adult ticket includes 1 sheet with 3 cards for $25 and a child’s ticket includes 1 sheet with 1 card for $5. Ticket price includes free snacks, soda, beer and wine. There will be 15 games with cash prizes. can purchase tickets with a credit card here or at the door with cash or check only.

Tomorrow:

— The Extreme Family Fest at the Bullock Texas State History Museum from 12 – 3 pm is free with the admission price of $12/adult, $10/student, $10/Senior & Military, $8/youth (4 – 17). Kids will meet live animals from around the world with Safari Greg from the Austin Zoo, learn about mammals that once roamed Texas, play some trivia and do some animal crafts.

— Ages 11 – 14 are invited to participate in a free writing workshop from the Austin Batcave. The Bats and Barton Springs Poetry Workshop will be from 9 am – 12 pm at the Austin American-Statesman HQ. Kids will learn about bats from experts and take a stroll to Barton Springs and then write a creative piece about their experience. Workshop is free, register here.

— Get out and take advantage of the weekly Parents’ Night Out happening at both All Thinks Kids locations from 6 – 10 pm for just $5 per hour. Call either the Georgetown location, or the Domain location, to reserve your spot.

— Perform an Act of Kindness with Princess B Unique. Children are invited to make cat beds and tour the facility at Austin Animal Shelter at 12 pm. Please RSVP on Facebook to be sure there are enough supplies.

Sunday:

— Spend an Afternoon in the Garden Building Forts and Faerie Homes at the Zilker Botanical Garden from 1 – 4 pm. Kids will create a hidden space in the garden with natural materials. Program is free with admission, which is $2/adult and $1/children ages 3 – 12.

— Check out the Kids Show at Cherrywood Coffeehouse with The Hey Lollies performing at 10 am for free.

— Check out The Jungle Book production performed by the TexARTS students at the TexARTS Kam & James Morris Theater at 2 & 6 pm. Tickets are $15 and you can buy them here.
