Did you know that Brackenridge Hospital invites the public in every year for a tour and walk-through of a mock surgery? This is really cool. You know how when you see all those people surrounding the patient in surgery on those hospital TV dramas? If you go to the Mock Surgery and More event on Saturday, Feb. 8 between 8 am and 2 pm, you’ll find out exactly what they are all doing in there. If you’ve ever wondered about any part of the process, or better yet, have an older kid with a deep interest in joining the medical profession, this will be a great way to gain exposure!

There is no cost to attend the event and no reservations are required. Tours are self-guided and last about two hours. The self-paced program includes:

  • Several operating rooms with mock set-ups of a variety of surgical procedures
  • Hands-on demonstrations and learning experiences with surgical equipment and other medical procedures
  • Seton associates, physicians and surgeons assuming their roles and explaining procedures

This event takes place at the Clinical Education Center (CEC) at Brackenridge and begins in the main lobby.

Admission is free. Parking is free at the CEC garage.

IMPORTANT: Large groups should Register here!
