Hot rods and hamburgers make for a pretty winning combination. Take the family to the free Hot Rod Drive-in Night at Austin’s old school burger joint, Top Notch, on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. to check out classic cars, live music, and a 1950’s movie at dusk.
This event, which happens the first Saturday of every month, makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time with a taste of historic Austin. Walk around and check out all of the cars that line up at 6 p.m. Check out the bands at 7 p.m., and bring your own folding chair and settle in for a 1950’s or 1960’s movie at dusk. (Note: The movies are geared more for mom, dad, and teens than for little ones. Check out the movie lineup beforehand and make the call as to whether is suitable for your family.)
Schedule for Sept. 6:
-> Cars arrive, 6 p.m.
-> Miss Julia and the Cruzers play, 7 p.m.
-> The Beatniks movie shows at dusk
