While we’re focused on Halloween right now, you know that the winter holiday season will be upon us in the blink of an eye. The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is ready for our Austin-area kids to start thinking about one of our city’s most beloved holiday tradition’s — the Zilker Tree! The Zilker Holiday Tree Art Contest is now underway, and children between the ages of 5-10 years are invited to participate.

Kids may create artwork showing the Zilker Holiday Tree using crayons, watercolors, ink, colored paper, pastels or paint. There are two divisions in the contest: Junior Division (5-7 year olds); and Senior Division (8-10 year olds), and the winner will get to help light the tree on Sunday, Nov. 30!
