The 2nd annual Austin Duck Derby, benefitting The Boys & Girls Club of Austin, will feature 10,000 yellow rubber ducks racing down Lady Bird Lake! While the actual Derby takes place on Saturday, August 8, everyone is invited to the Austin Duck Derby Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Whole Foods Market Domain location where you can adopt your ducks, learn more about the cause, and enjoy family-friendly fun such as face painting, kids crafts, prizes, giveaways and more!
You can adopt your ducks at the kick-off event, or go online to the Austin Duck Derby website to do so. The adopted ducks will launch into the Lady Bird Lake on Derby Day and race to the finish line for prizes such as a new car, motorcycle and more for their adopters.
Proceeds from every duck adopted benefit the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation, a non-profit organization which supports and provides valuable assistance to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Austin Area which operate 22 clubs. Each year, Boys & Girls Clubs help over 12,000 kids (and over 1,700 each day) grow into healthy, responsible, caring young adults.
