Texas weather is wild! One day we’re in shorts and t-shirts this winter, the next we’re in our warmest coats. Texas is known for powerful storms with hail, flash floods, lightening and strong winds. Occasionally in the spring season, twisters even show up in parts of Texas. Did you know that March through May is considered our severe weather season?

We can learn all about the Lone Star State’s extreme weather on Sunday, Feb. 1 during the free WeatherFest 2015 event at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Families are invited to the Bullock for FREE admission from noon – 5 p.m. with special weather weather-related programs from noon – 3 p.m. You can talk with meteorologists from Time Warner Cable News, KEYE and KXAN. And kids can check out plenty of hands-on activities, too.
