The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is such a gem in South Austin, featuring a gorgeous landscape where families can explore nature and soak in the beauty of the Central Texas. We’re big fans of taking our kids there for some playtime in wide open spaces, but we’re also appreciative that the Wildflower Center also hosts a variety of fun programs — such as the annual Children’s Book Fair. The Children’s Book Fair takes place on both Saturday, Feb. 1 and Sunday, Feb. 2 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. where you can meet Texas-based children’s authors and illustrators, enjoy story time and other literary activities, and discover great books to take home!

While you’re there, browse books in the McDermott Learning Center, then head down to the Family Garden to read in the shade of Lynda’s Library, a lovely addition to the Play Lawn.
