We’re ready for some star-spangled fun with family and friends to celebrate Independence Day!   The tough part is going to be choosing between these awesome events, but with the Fourth of July on a Tuesday this year, there are events throughout the weekend beginning July 1.  Here’s your Round-Up of 4th of July Events in the Austin area, including fireworks shows, as well as where to catch a free ride with CapMetro after 5 pm to make your night even more fun, and stress-free.

2023 Independence Day Events and Fireworks

H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks
Head downtown in your patriotic ensemble on July 4th for this annual Austin tradition. Enjoy fireworks and a free live performance by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, The festivities begin at 8 pm, followed by “mile-high” fireworks.  Click here for more info, including parking suggestions, and visit the CapMetro website to plan easy transportation to and from this event, and note that everyone rides for free after 5 pm on the 4th!

Bastrop Big Bang Celebration
Join the fun at this free, all-day, family-friendly festival on July 1st featuring activities like a 5K/1K run, a Pet and Pal Parade, a firework display, and much more.  Click here for full details.

Cedar Park 4th of July Celebration at Milburn Park
Head out to Milburn Park to enjoy the City of Cedar Park’s firework display beginning at 9:30 pm on July 4th. Make a day of it (beginning at 5 pm) and enjoy carnival rides, concessions, inflatables, and a movie in the park immediately following the fireworks.  Click here for more info and the full schedule of events.

Independence Day Celebration at Hill Country Galleria
The family-friendly community event on July 4th is free and open to the public and will feature live music at the Central Plaza lawn, kids’ rides, unique shopping and dining, more than 40+ artisan vendors, a fireworks show, and more! The event runs from 4 – 10 pm.  FREE admission and parking. More info here.

Independence Day Scavenger Hunt @ YMCA Camp Moody
Bring the whole family to YMCA Camp Moody for a scavenger hunt followed by games, rock climbing, and red, white, and blue snow cones on Saturday, July 1.  This event is FREE with registration here.

Kyle’s Independence Day Fireworks Show
Join the City of Kyle’s celebration on July 4th a fireworks show at approximately 9:30 pm.  Enjoy live music from the cover band, The Grooves, outside of Hays CISD Performing Arts Center from 5:30 pm – 9 pm.  Fireworks will be launched from Plum Creek Golf Course, however, Plum Creek Golf Course will be closed to the public during the display.  Click here for more details.

Lago Vista Independence Day Celebrations
Celebrate freedom with a full lineup of festivities in Lago Vista! There will be a 5K run, a festival, and fireworks on July 1st, as well as a parade on July 4.  Click here for more info and to sign up for the 5K.

Leander Liberty Fest
Leander’s largest annual event includes live music, food, children’s activities, and a spectacular fireworks display on July 3rd. Admission is free for all ages and gates open at 6 pm.  Live music starts at 6:30 pm followed by a fireworks show at 9:30.  Click here for more info.  Also, CapMetro will be running a bus service to the event at Devine Lake Park from offsite parking at Glenn High School and you can get more info here.

Liberty Hill Independence Day Celebration
This family-friendly event takes place on July 3rd and features tons of fun activities including a hot dog eating contest, children’s activities, food trucks, and an outdoor concert and fireworks. Click here for details.

Georgetown’s Sertoma 4th of July Celebration at San Gabriel Park
The Georgetown Sertoma Club will host activities beginning at 11 am at San Gabriel Park on July 4th and will include live entertainment beginning at noon, with a fireworks show at 9:30 pm. The festival also includes arts and crafts, food, beer and wine, a petting zoo, classic and antique cars, games, and rides for children and adults. New Braunfels Fourth of July at Landa Park
Enjoy the largest Independence Day celebration in New Braunfels featuring fireworks over Landa Lake on July 4th. Park festivities begin at 7 pm and fireworks Start at 9:15 pm. Click here for more info.

Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival
In partnership with Typhoon Texas, the City of Pflugerville is presenting a free fireworks show at 9:30 pm on July 4th from the field next to the waterpark located at the intersection of SH 130 and Pflugerville Parkway. Red, White, and Buda
Buda is celebrating on July 4th with big bands and even bigger fireworks! Start the day with a favorite annual tradition — Bike Parade down Main Street — and then enjoy tons of activities during the day like splash pads and inflatables, and finally, relax into an evening of live music on the great lawn, and fireworks at 9:15 pm! Free and no reservations required. More details.

Round Rock Express Baseball at Dell Diamond
Enjoy post-game fireworks at the Dell Diamond with their big patriotic display on July 4th. The first 7,000 fans will get a free mini-American flag when entering the Dell Diamond, and the first pitch is at 6:05 pm. After the game, you can enjoy their largest postgame fireworks show of the season set to patriotic music.  Get more details and tickets online here.

Round Rock’s Sertoma July 4th Parade and Frontier Days
On July 4th, Enjoy a parade at 8:30 am followed by the Frontier Days Festival starting at noon, including carnival rides, entertainment, music, Swifty Swine Racing Pigs, vendors, and more! Volente Beach Fireworks Show
The Annual Starnes Island Fireworks show has been moved several hundred yards from the Island to the mainland at Volente Beach. The show will still be viewable by boat on Monday, July 3, and there will be over 1000 boats in the water.
