Summertime means backyard cookouts, neighborhood potlucks, pool parties, Father’s Day celebrations, and Fourth of July blowouts. We’re so ready for a season of hanging and eating with family & friends! This means, it’s prime time to fire up the grill for some mouthwatering burgers. If you’ve got picky eaters in your family like we do, we expect that it’s hard to convince the kids to go beyond the basic burger. (If the most “exotic” burger topping you can possibly pass off is a new type of cheese, we feel ya.)

Well, our friends at H-E-B have some awesome recipes and ideas that are anything but basic — that even the pickiest kid palettes will approve of! H-E-B is celebrating all things burger during their Burger Bash from June 8-21, and their website features tons of recipes for burgers & sides, cooking tips and Primo Pick items to add to your shopping list when you head to your local store.  We’ve sorted through their vast collection of delicious suggestions to find 5 New Burger Recipes Your Kids Will Love.

Pork & Pepperoni Pizza Burgers: Combining pepperoni pizza and burgers?! Genius. How could kids resist this mashup of two favorite foods?

Chicken Burger: For something a little different, these chicken burgers pack a little fajita flavor, and you can even sneak in some healthy spinach into the patties (bonus).

Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie: Y’all it’s a pie! Deconstructing the burger and baking it with cheese into a pie pan is something we’re totally ready to slice. We think the kids will dig it, too. (And we can’t pass up anything that’s “impossibly easy”.)

Vegetarians and vegans will find an impressive list of meatless recipes on the H-E-B Burger Bash website — so many delicious options! But we know if the kids are eating it, it’s best to keep it simple. This one packs in the protein and the flavor.

— Bonus! Dessert Burger: We promised 5 kid-friendly options, but we can’t resist sharing just one more. This incredible dessert option would sweeten any meal. C’mon, a donut as a bun! Yum!
