Austin’s newest hot spot for hot tea is also a very family-friendly community space. Brentwood Social House is a charming neighborhood cafe that opened in November on West Koenig Lane. Entering this cafe feels like you’re entering a friend’s home, where you can explore its many rooms, back patio or front porch to find a cozy spot to settle into. There is also a room designed for families, equipped with a train table and a selection of books, toys and board games.

Co-owners Suzanne Daniels and Sarah Olano wanted Brentwood Social House to serve as a place that not only offers a great spot to sip tea, but also for special events such as story times, yoga classes, International nights, and many more programs to come.

The Do512 Family crew has met here several times for work meetings and enjoyed the free wifi and all of the big tables to chose from. We’ve also been in with our kids, and find it a great place to meet up with other parents for a cup of coffee. In addition to the family room, the back yard includes several trucks that the kids can push around while you catch up with friends.

The food at Brentwood Social House is quite different from your usual coffee shop menu. Sarah Olano is originally from England and wanted to introduce Texans to traditional English pasties from her home country as well as French food, inspired from living and working in France and Quebec. The cafe menu includes items such as savory tarts, sausage rolls, cheese pasties, scones, lemon tea cake, and assorted pastries such as the decadent Millionaire Bar. Beverages include Zhi teas and coffee from Greater Goods Roasting Company. You can either dine-in or just pop by and take your treats to go.
