Does it feel like there is no end to your laundry pile? In big families such as ours, the moment things are washed and finally put away, the laundry basket is full again. Let’s face it — it’s an annoying chore! So when we heard about The Folde, this new, local service that will do our laundry for us, we were eager to try it out.
The Folde is a small, Austin company that believes life is about having a good time, doing what you love – not laundry. They provide all-inclusive laundry and dry cleaning service that’s incredibly easy — just a quick online sign up and they pick up and deliver your items. Their service is designed to give us more time for fun, more time to get those clothes dirty, while letting someone else take care of keeping them clean.
How it Works:
- Create an account at thefolde.com. You provide your contact info, billing info, and request a date, time and location for your dirty clothes to be picked up.
- The Folde will drop off laundry and garment bags for you to fill.
- They will pick up your items while you’re busy doing better things. They will wash, dry and fold the laundry and return to you at your preferred time.
Our staff at Do512 Family had the chance to try this out recently. It was pretty much the best. We simply created an account and scheduled our pick up date. Laundry bags were delivered to our door step the day before our first service date so we could fill them up and have them ready to go. You can either leave your filled bags by your door if you are not able to be home — or you can schedule pick up at a convenient time for you to hand off your bags of laundry.
Once your items are ready (for us it was only a day turnaround), you can schedule a time for the laundry to be dropped back off. A friendly face will bring your clothes to your door so all you have to do is hang them up in your closet and put them away in your drawers. Bingo, bango. So easy!
We have to say that having someone else take care of our laundry was such a treat! It was especially nice to skip a trip to and from the dry cleaners on our nicer items. And the whole service was so fast and convenient!
