We’ll admit that we had thought of Punch Bowl Social primarily as a happy hour and weekend destination for grownups. But it turns out this Domain hot spot actually offers quite a lot of fun for families! Popular for karaoke and bowling parties, they also offer tons of games from foosball to pool, arcade or board games, it’s a fun place for daytime hangs with the kids. They recently invited us in to test out their new kids menu and reminded us of their Kids Bowl Free Program that runs Mondays through Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. through August 31. Between the food and the games, we had a blast! Read all about our experience below.

–> Did you know that Saturday, August 11 is National Bowling Day? To celebrate, Punch Bowl Social is offering free bowling all day to all guests (up to one hour per group based on availability; bowling shoes included).

Punch Bowl Social is located in the main section of the Domain (near Macy’s), and it houses a bright and modern dining room on one side and sprawling bar, bowling, game room and lounge on the other. For all there is to do at Punch Bowl Social, check out their list of activities here.

Kids Menu: When we arrived at Punch Bowl Social for lunch on a weekday, the chef came out to chat with us about their goals for the kids menu. Both the chef and owner are Dads themselves and want to ensure their own kids are getting the healthy, top quality food options when they’re dining out with the family. The focus of the menu change was to provide more diverse options with quality ingredients. The result was pretty awesome. They provided us with a sample of ALL menu items. You should have seen the look on the kids faces when they kept bringing out more and more food. The kids felt like judges on a Food Network television show, sampling a little bit from each plate, comparing their favorite dishes. (By the way, the Lemon Waffles and Spaghetti & Meatballs were getting the highest marks.)

Punch Bowl Social’s scratch kitchen kids’ menu features new items such as BBQ Ribs, grass-fed, hormone-free Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes & Roasted Carrots, a Banana Almond Butter Sandwich, a Grilled Cheddar Cheese Sandwich and a kid-sized serving of the popular Lil’ Knock Cheeseburger with fries. Plus, Punch Bowl Social‘s craft beverage program serves up plenty of non-alcoholic options including milkshakes, fresh-squeezed juices, fizzes and all-natural sodas. The kids got such a kick out of drinking mocktails in fancy glasses.
