Attention all ye sires and m’ladies, it’s time for the 6th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire. Be magically transported back in time at this fun-filled, charming Renaissance Faire based on the tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Enjoy faeries, swordplay, theatre, magic, comedy, and games starting on Saturday, Feb. 7 and running every weekend through Sunday, Mar. 29 from 10 a.m. – dusk. Located in McDade, Texas, the Faire is set in a 23-acre village in a wooded setting that features shoppes, pubs, restaurants and stages.

While you are  there, you can stroll through the village, gnawing on a giant turkey leg, sipping some grog and enjoying the sights and sounds of more than 100 musical, comedic and dramatic performances per day. Watch a joust, falconry or dog show, or just people-watch, taking in the sights and sounds of the many folks who attend in full Renaissance regalia (which you are welcome and encouraged to do the same).

The kiddos can play carnival games, wander through a maze, practice archery or enjoy rides operated by staff all in period costume and character. For more info about children’s entertainment, click here.

There are plenty of tasty food and drink options available, from pizza and beer to Boar on a Bun, crepes, or even Chicken Paprikash. For a full list of food and beverage options, click here.
