This weekend, if you’re not hitting up one of the many Free Austin Poolsthere is still plenty to do! Here are our top 10 Austin family events, have fun out there!

Today:

— Catch a free magic show with the magnificent Black Bert, at the Highland Mall, for free at 1 pm. This show is a sneak peek into the curriculum of Fantastic Magic Camp, where kids learn magic, juggling, unicycling and puppeteering. Register for camp here.

Music on the Square continues at the Georgetown Courthouse Square. This week it’s all about the kids! Mr. Johnny will play at 6:30 pm. Free!

— Get some dinner and a free movie in the great outdoors at Ski Shores Cafe for their Family Movie Night. Pagemaster will play at sundown, kids can enjoy free s’mores and burn some energy on the playscape.

Tomorrow:

Bubblepalooza will be at the Long Center’s City Terrace and will feature the best in kindie music! Food trailers will be on site and kids can make and blow bubbles ALL DAY, 8 am – 4 pm. Bubblepalooza is free to attend, with the performances from Bubble Trouble at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm inside Dell Hall costing $5.

— Get schooled on the wonders of Barton Springs at Barton Springs Fest, taking place from 8 am – 7 pm at Barton Springs pool, and outside the back gate and the South hill area. A hike and snorkel eco-tours will start at 8 am, followed by free cold watermelon and educational speakers and workshops until 4 pm. Music from 4 – 7 pm will be on the South hill.

— Paint with ice cubes at The Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria for Family Saturday Ice Painting. Recommended for ages 2 – 11, $10 for non-members, $5 for members, 11 am – 3 pm.

— It’s your last chance to attend Story Time Saturdays at Millie & Mox! Mary Beth Bruton will read her book that’s all about Austin to the kiddos, while you have the chance to win awesome giveaways. Free, 10 am.

Sunday:

— It’s Sunday Funday at Baby Earth with a special performance from Staci Gray, free, 4 pm.

Peter Pan and His Lost Shadow will play at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center at 2 and 4 pm. Ticketing will begin an hour-and-a-half before showtime. All tickets are first come, first serve, get there early because the theatre reaches capacity at 130. This production is totally free, thanks to the non profit, Austin Summer Musical for Children.

— Organize all of your family’s summer memories at the Creatify Summer Sunday Series: Summer Memorabilia Art & Scrapbooking. Kids (parents are invited too!) can bring photos, stickers, crafts, and anything else they would like to incorporate into scrapbook pages. Recommended for ages 7 and up, $20 registration, or $15 each if you’re a parent who wishes to go with their child. At Fabricker from 2 – 5 pm.
