Here are our Top 10 Austin Family Events

Today:

— See Pee Wee’s Big Adventure at Dittmar Recreation Center for their Movie in the Park. The free screening will start at 8:30 pm, bring chairs, blankets and a picnic. Enjoy the show!

Planet Music continues with its Middle Eastern installment at the Dougherty Arts Center with a performance from 1001 Nights Orchestra. After the performance there will be an interactive class where the Austin International Folk Dancers will teach the audience a dance! Free, family friendly, doors are at 6 pm, performance/class will be from 7 – 9 pm.

— Take a little road trip to the Fredericksburg Marktplatz for the Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival, where you can get your fill of cajun mudbugs, hear live music, see gators (seriously!) and kids will be entertained with a climbing wall, bumper boats and a human hamster ball. Tomorrow:

— Dress up your little heroes and get to the Austin Comic & Toy Show at the Norris Conference Center, open from 9 am – 5 pm. Get your picture with the Batmobile and Bumble Bee (Transformers), do some cosplay, compete in the costume contest and peruse through tons of collectible toys and comics. Admission is just $4 for adults and kids 12 and under are FREE! Click here to get a coupon for a free vintage comic book.

Disney on Ice Rockin’ Ever After will have performances at 11:30 am, 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm at the Cedar Park Center, that’s three chances to see stars of Brave, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel and others skate, dance and sing. Tickets are $20 – $55 and you can buy them here.

— Dads, bring the kids to Toybrary Austin for the Daddy Playdate Bug Making at 10:30 am. Free for members, $3 per child for non-members.

— Children’s favorite rapper, Big Don, will perform a Free Kids Show at Strange Brew at 10 am.

Sunday:

RedFest wraps up at the Circuit of the Americas. Live music, comedy and other fun like ziplines, mechanical bull rides, street fair rides and all kinds of other outdoor fun. Jeff Foxworthy will headline. Sunday tickets are $68.40 for adults and $27.75 for kids 12 and under, you can buy them here. Alamo Kids Camp presents Mousehunt, playing at Alamo’s Lakeline location. All Kids Camp movies are free but seating is first come, first serve, so get there early!

— See what Snapology summer camps have to offer at the Snapology of Austin LEGO® Summer Camp Open House. Stop by Circle C Community Center from 3 – 5 pm to play with robitc equipment, a mini animation studio, STEM builds, loose bricks and other LEGO® fun. Free, and if you register for camp on site, you’ll save $25 on tuition.
