How would you like to see a cat cafe come to Austin? These cafes full of felines are popular in Japan, and are popping up in several cities in the U.S. Soon, Austin may have a cat cafe, too. The folks behind the future Blue Cat Cafe are planning to set up a place for people to relax, drink coffee, and play with adoptable kitties. The goal is to open the cafe sometime this year. In order to make the the Blue Cat Cafe a reality, organizers have a Kickstarter campaign up and running to help raise funds to get this project off the ground.
On Saturday, Mar. 7 everyone’s invited to a Kitten Party at Counter Culture from 3-5 p.m. as a way to raise funds and awareness about this future cat cafe. At the family-friendly Kitten Party, you can pet and play with fostered kitties and enjoy a vegan lunch from Counter Culture. There will be free art activities for kids, too.
For more info about the Kitten Party, you can check out their event page on Facebook.
