Anyone with kids has probably gone through the “train phase” at some point. Whether it’s Thomas or Chuggington or the classic Lionel O Gauge, trains have some serious street cred in the under-10 set (and over, too.)

Embrace the train-love and spend a few hours on a scenic tour of Austin by taking a ride on the Capital City Express, the newest route from the Austin Steam Train Association.

On Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 pm, head to the Austin Steam Train in Cedar Park to embark on a 3-hour ride through Austin pulled by their 1960 Alco Diesel Locomotive. The 60-mile round trip from Cedar Park to Austin and back, goes through the McNeil Interlocker, so may even provide an opportunity for a meet-up with a Union Pacific freight train. Pass by Plaza Saltillo in East Austin before turning on the wye at Austin Junction to head back to Cedar Park.

There are no stops on the route, so you should plan to be on board for the full three hours. Ticket prices range from $15 to $35 and can be ordered here. Get a 10% discount by using code DO512FAM at checkout.

We also have 4 tickets to give away, enter below for a chance to win a ride on the Austin Steam Train!

This giveaway is now closed, congrats to our winner and thanks to everyone who entered!
