Formula 1 is back! As the competitors for the 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship arrive at the track on Friday October 20, they’ll be put to the test.

Traveling great distances from the furthest corners of the globe, the daring drivers will have Friday to practice and warm up a bit, just to compete in qualifying trials on Saturday, battling for a prime spot in the world’s greatest car race. The lucky few who make it through qualifying trials will then duke it out, Sunday, October 22, in the Austin F1™ Grand Prix 2017 for one of racing’s most prestigious titles.

Formula 1 began in 1950 when it was first defined in earnest as the premier single-seater racing category in worldwide motorsport. In the 70 odd years that have proceeded its humble beginnings, the Formula 1 name has become synonymous with speed and excellence.

The competition represents a total convergence of human skill, both in driving these incredible vehicles and engineering them.

Fast forward to now and you’ve got a prestigious international institution that promises more forms of entertainment than just competitive racing. Circuit of the Americas is well-known for being the essential destination in Austin for both sports and live music. From October 20th to the 22nd, Formula 1 will make good on that shared reputation for entertainment.

America’s one and only premier Formula 1 racing facility, Austin’s own Circuit of the Americas, touts an innovative homage to the most notable race tracks around the world. Opened in 2012 the track utilizes the natural topography for dramatic effect and emulates iconic turns and high-speed corners, assembling one of the best circuits the world has to offer. Get ready for three days of non-stop racing, with the mind-boggling and unfathomable machines that are the pinnacle of modern man’s automotive engineering, vibrating your entire body as the beastly engines scream. If you don’t have a need for speed, a weekend at CotA will most definitely give you a change of heart.

–> The Music: As we mentioned earlier, Circuit of the Americas is known equally for live entertainment of the musical and sporting variety. So it makes all kinds of sense that the two main musical acts booked for this event are big enough to stand on their own, even if fast cars aren’t really your speed.

Justin Timberlake
Though we can all get a kick out of reminiscing on Justin’s blonde tipped renaissance during his N’SYNC days, no one can deny the modern day Timberlake has some seriously catchy numbers. Fresh off his Grammy win for “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” the pop singer is set to perform a full concert on the CotA Super Stage after Saturday’s racing activities have ended. Anyone with a 3-day GA wristband will have the opportunity to catch Timberlake’s show on a first-come first-served basis for seating.

Stevie Wonder
The fact that CotA was able to wrangle one of the most respected musicians in history is sign enough that the Formula 1 weekend is an event that can’t be missed. The 25 time Grammy winner, singer, pianist and living legend will close out the weekend’s racing on Sunday on the Super Stage.  If Taylor Swift put Formula 1 on the Austin map with her appearance last year, Stevie Wonder is about to rev up this year’s blend of fast cars and music to a whole new level.

More Live Music: The fun doesn’t stop there. CotA is converting the Formula 1 into a full on Austin music festival. Featuring over thirty artists, Formula 1 fans can enjoy acts like The Texas Gentlemen, Los Coast, Israel Nash, The Peterson Brothers, Uncle Lucius, Jonathan Terrell, Tomar and the FCs, CJ Edwards & The Funk Fellowship, Hooka Hey, Saint Sinner and more. Stages will be around every corner of the circuit and live music will be playing all day Saturday and Sunday. Come discover your new favorite artist at the Grand Prix. Find out more here.

All weekend long, you’ll find festivities everywhere you turn. As always, Circuit of the America’s will be replete with food and drink options, and the cooler weather is something everyone can look forward to. The action goes down from October 20th to October 22nd, tickets are available here.

Rain Guarantee: F1 at CotA has a RAIN GUARANTEE! Should it rain over two inches in the 24-hour period before the start of the race on Sunday, October 22, COTA will refund 105% of the value of the ticket for any fan who purchased a 3-day reserved seat by July 4, 2017.

Babies & Toddlers Get in Free: Children two and under receive free general admission with a ticketed adult.
