Get ready for the Rodeo to open this weekend!  Austin’s largest carnival runs from March 8 – 23, 2024, with perfect timing for spring break (and discounted ride wristbands, ow ow!)  Take the kids to experience some good old-fashioned Texas fun from carnival rides to traditional rodeo festivities and so much more.

Here are all the details you need to know to make the most of your experience.  

You won’t want to miss:

  • The petting zoo and pony rides at KidsTown
  • Animals at the livestock show
  • A huge variety of tasty fair foods
  • Barrel racing, bull riding, mutton bustin’ (where kids can participate!)

One-day admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids and you can grab your tickets here.  Bonus: Rodeo Austin has $2 Tuesday on March 19, and other specials here.

— The Carnival
The carnival has tons of rides & games to choose from. Click here for carnival wristbands. (Does not include Fairgrounds admission.) Also, take note of these specials:

  • Daily Unlimited Ride Wristband: $45
    Valid for any one day for the full hours of operation. Does not include Fairgrounds admission, please purchase separately.
  • Spring Break Wristband: $25
    Special pricing for early birds during Spring Break! Ride 11 am – 5 pm any one day from Monday, March 11 – Thursday, March 13.
  • After School Special Wristband: $25
    Special pricing for after-school visits March 18 – 24. Ride 4 pm to close any one day.

— Food & Shopping
You can’t hit up the Rodeo and not get a funnel cake or a giant turkey leg.  Hey, we don’t make the rules. You can choose from all the classic fair favorites including fried…well, pretty much anything.

Shopping vendors are located in the Exhibit Hall, Rodeo Arena Mezzanine, and in various outdoor locations. You’ll find everything from cowboy boots and hats to furniture and children’s toys.


The Rodeo
