Taking the kids to a movie is always a fun time, especially at the Alamo Drafthouse where you can order up delicious food and drinks as you watch a film. But have you ever taken the kids to a Family Party at the Alamo? These events make a movie outing even more exciting! At Family Parties, you can enjoy lots of fun and games, crafts, silly photo booths and more — all before the film.  So by the time you’re ready to settle into your seats, you’ve had an 45 minutes of fun that gets you hyped up for the show on the big screen.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Family Ball
Saturday Nov. 3, Mueller, Ball – 9:30 a.m.; Movie – 10:30 a.m.

Dress up in your finest ball gowns for this special screening that includes a ball with Nutcracker-themed activities before the film. Friends from Ballet Austin will also be on hand to teach partygoers some dance moves (no previous experience required).

About the Film: Packed with lavish sets, ornate costumes, and supremely quiffed hairstyling, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms brings spectacle of a different kind. Inspired by Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable music, it’s a wintertime treat for the whole family, a freewheeling trip through a story that’s classic and yet brand-new.

The Grinch Family Party
– Saturday, Nov. 10, Slaughter Lane, Party – 9:45 a.m.; Movie – 10:30 a.m.
– Sunday, Nov. 11, Lakeline, Party – 9:30 a.m.; Movie – 10:15 a.m.

The Grinch Family Party will include a holiday themed photo booth, ornament decorating stations, a coal toss game, and ‘wrap your family’ theater game!

About the film: He’s a mean one – and he’s back. Living atop a mountain overlooking the town of Whoville, the Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch) despises Christmas. As the town prepares bigger-than-ever celebrations, the Grinch hatches a plan to ruin them, alongside his trusty dog Max. The only thing standing between him and his miserly goal is young Cindy Lou Who, who mistakes him for what he hates most: Santa Claus.

Ralph Breaks the Internet Family Party

About the film: Six years after the events of “Wreck-It Ralph”, Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure to find a replacement steering wheel for their video game. Along the way, the two encounter new customs, worlds, and characters, such as trendy algorithms and the Disney Princess and other popular characters.
