Get your junior paleontologists ready for the 26th Annual Fossil Fest on Saturday, Nov. 19 & Sunday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Old Settlers Association Meeting Hall (next to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock). Fossil Fest is a fun and educational event for the whole family!

  • Sharks swimming in Round Rock!
  • Mammoths stampeding through downtown!
  • Volcanoes exploding by the airport!
  • Dinosaurs stomping around Zilker Park!
  • Monster marine reptiles cruising town!

This is Central Texas. For tens of millions of years the area around Austin was underwater. Sharks really were swimming in Round Rock – giant, ocean reptiles (some up to 30 ft in length) cruised through Austin. And over by Bergstrom International Airport, volcanoes exploded sporadically. Later on mammoths, camels, horses and mastodons roamed the plains where we now have city lights and paved streets. Learn about this amazing history at Fossil Fest and “discover the prehistoric in your backyard.”
