On Saturday, Dec. 12, families are invited to The Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m for their FREE gingerbread house workshops as part of their monthly Second Saturdays are for Families series. Kids are invited to be the ART-chitect of their very own candy home! They’ll be whipping up edible abodes like you’ve never seen before, inspired by the architecture of the Driscoll Villa at Laguna Gloria.

Roger Hiorns’s interactive foam sculpture “A retrospective view of the pathway” will be activated at 1 p.m. to create an otherworldly landscape where kids can play in the bubbles!

Kids can play in Roger Hiorn’s bubble machine when it’s activated!

*The foam used in Hiorns’s artwork is nontoxic and biodegradable. Please use caution if you have sensitivities to detergent-based materials. We invite you to interact with the installation at your own risk. Guests are encouraged to wear clothes that can get wet or messy and to bring towels and a change of clothes.

–> Admission is now Free! Previously, the Contemporary Austin’s Second Saturdays series required admission fees, but now thanks to sponsorship by HomeAway, these events are FREE! Mark your calendar for the next Second Saturday, too:
