Seeing the annual Holiday Lights at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is a tradition that we look forward to every Christmas season, but take note that things are a little different this year. There are some some changes and additions to this seasonal program that you’ll want to know before you go.

What’s New This Year? Unlike in the past, you don’t need to be there on the hour for the light show. This year, there’s an on-going experience all evening long from 6-11 p.m., but not a scheduled show. Visitors can expect to be surrounded by more than one million LED lights, some of which have been sculpted into giant iconic objects, custom-made in Greece, such as a dozen guitars, a Disney-like carriage, a giant coffee mug and a tree filled with presents. Plus, there’s a new audio-activated wall of lights that the kids can enjoy.

In addition, more than 20 choirs from local schools and community groups are scheduled to perform Christmas songs that range from traditional to “rock-the-deck” tunes.

We made a special stop at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters on the opening night of this year’s holiday show. Check out these photos below by Roger Ho, to see what a beautiful sight awaits you:

The event starts at 6 p.m. and provides an on-going holiday experience through 11 p.m. (Not a 15 min. show at the top of every hour like in year’s past.) This runs nightly through January 1, 2018 (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas day).

Admission is FREE, but you’re not going to want to pass up a hot chocolate while you’re there (especially with specialty flavors such as peppermint, pumpkin spice, & cinnamon). And the desserts are so delicious that it’s a good idea to just plan to go for a post-dinner treat.

There is parking in the main storefront lot and street, but spaces fill up quickly. There is an additional parking lot immediately across Lake Austin Boulevard that you can use for free.

Stay tuned to their Facebook page for any updates.
