Have you ever taken the kids to an IMAX movie? Here in Austin, we’re lucky to have the chance to see really cool documentaries on the biggest screen in Texas at the IMAX Theatre in the Bullock State Texas History Museum. It’s quite an experience to see such films on such a massive, state-of-the art screen. This September, the Bullock added two new films to the lineup of IMAX movies, and we’ve got tickets to giveaway!

New films this month:

–> Sea Monsters 3D: A Prehistoric Adventure
Fascinating sea creatures come to life in this prehistoric adventure that transports you 82 million years into the past. During the Late Cretaceous period, a great inland ocean divided North America and was home to a variety of sea monsters, including dolichorynchops (known as “dolly”). Follow this ancient creature as she encounters giant turtles, enormous fish, fierce prehistoric sharks and the most dangerous sea monster of them all — mosasaurs.  (40 min.)

–> Jerusalem
Featuring rare and awe-inspiring aerial footage of the city, this film offers unprecedented access to Jerusalem’s holiest sites. Renowned archaeologist Dr. Jodi Mangess takes viewers underground to solve some of the city’s greatest mysteries. Through this unique and stunning cinematic experience, discover why this city continues to stir the imagination of millions of people of all three faiths. (45 min.)
