Austin Scottish Rite Theatre has got a holiday treat for the whole family! Kids are sure to giggle along when Junie B. Jones takes the stage in the silly children’s show, Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells. This show runs from Dec. 2 through Dec. 16 with weekend matinees at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
About the Play: Junie B. Jones is super-excited about the upcoming Holiday SingAlong and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. Too bad tattletale May keeps ruining all of Junie B.’s fun. So when Junie B. draws May’s name for Secret Santa, she comes up with the perfect plan to teach her nemesis a lesson! But will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere before she can give you-know-who what she deserves? A hilarious and endearing tale written by Allison Gregory based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park. This show is great for all ages, and lasts about one hour.
— Tickets & Showtimes: The show runs from Dec. 2-16 with showtimes on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for children and $15 for adults. You can get your tickets in advance online here or at the box office before each production.
As with all children’s plays at Austin Scottish Rite Theatre, kids are invited to come early for coloring time in the grand lobby as well as to snack on cookies or drinks (priced at $1 each). Once the theatre doors open, kids are invited to sit on the carpets near the stage to get up-close to all of the action and enjoy the best seats in the house.
