We are pumped that Fun Fun Fun Fest will soon be taking over Auditorium Shores on November 7, 8, and 9 for three full days of music and comedy. FFF is a combination of weird, wild, fantastic, and obviously FUN. We’re super psyched that kids ages 10 and under are FREE, and we’re looking forward to taking the kids this year.

The music lineup at FFF combines an awesomely diverse mix of indie rock, metal and hip hop with such artists this year as Modest Mouse, Meat Puppets, Judas Priest, Wiz Khalifa and so many more. The comedy performances will likewise be pretty amazing with Jon Waters and Fred Armisen. (What?! Yes, the lineup is bananas.) Check out the full list and schedule on the FFF website

In addition to music and comedy, there is also the super rad action sports area of the festival. Volcom is helping redesign and build this year’s skate ramp, ride course, and will also curate the Fest’s 2014 action sports program together with local non-profit, Project LOOP. You can watch the Volcom Skate Team do a series of demos throughout the weekend. Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with their favorite athletes at special meet-and-greets.art615FFFfest980x540

So, if you’re thinking about taking the kids to FFF this year, we’ve got some info for so you can start planning ahead!

Is there anything kid-friendly at FFF?
Totally. You won’t find a separate section of the festival just for kids (like at ACL), but you are sure to see lots of awesome families with kids of all ages. Here’s a few fun things kids can check out:

Project LOOP is planning some fun art activities for kids, including:

  • slip n slide painting with Steve Olson
  • stencil spray painting booth with Jerrys Artarama
  • drawing lessons with Austin’s favorite artist Tim Kerr (who also painted our Do512 office. Take look at his work. We happen to love it.)

Kids might also enjoy:

  • pro wrestling matches
  • skate & BMX demos
  • a mechanical bull
  • a Moto GT photo booth
  • Red Bull claw (a claw machine where you can win prizes)

What should I pack if I bring the kids?
Definitely check out the FAQs section of the FFF website for a comprehensive list of what’s allowed in the festival. But there are a few stand-out things to note if you’re bringing kids.

  • strollers are welcome
  • empty water bottles are a great idea
  • No blankets or chairs (small beach towel is okay)
  • No camelpacks
  • No outside food/drink (but don’t worry. There will be tons of great food trucks on site.)

The Festival runs Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9. Gates open at 11am each day, and the the fest begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. each day. A three-day pass is $195, and single-day passes are $85 and can be purchased online here.
