It’s time again for a favorite family springtime activity — strawberry picking! Wondering where to go pick your own? We’ve rounded up a list of local spots for berries!

Please take note that we’ve been informed that strawberry picking is very light this year, so it’s best to check with each farm before you load up the kids for a day out.

–> Sweet Berry Farm

This popular farm in Marble Falls has announced the first berries are ready for picking as well as flowers! We highly recommend checking the Sweet Berry Farm website for any possible updates before making the drive out there. They encourage visitors to read the details of their Fresh News page for the latest crop info. They are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 1-5 p.m.; Closed all Wednesdays. No admission fee. Strawberries are $3.25 per pound.

This farm also has plenty of of activities for the kids! Enjoy pony rides (Friday thru Sunday), make sand art, paint a pot, jump on the berry bounce, feed the goats, and ride the barrel train. The activities operate on a ticket system where you can just pay for the individual activities that you wish to do. Click here for pricing and more details. The farm also offers plenty of picnic tables to use, and you’re welcome to bring your lunch and enjoy a day on the farm.

–> Barton Hill Farms

The U-pick strawberry fields will be open starting April 9th during the farm’s Berries & Bunnies Festival. They will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive early to guarantee your bucket to pick. Additionally, the farm offers the chance to meet friendly farm animals including bunnies, goats, ponies, & pigs. You can also hunt for Easter eggs, pose for pics with the Easter Bunny, enjoy games, live music, a biergarten, barrel train rides, strawberry shortcake, and much more! Tickets for farm entry are Tickets are $21.95 for adults and children ages 3 and older and should be purchased in advance online here.

While the berry-picking might not last too long, you can enjoy treats like strawberry shortcake at the farm!

–> Jenschke Orchards

Located in Fredericksburg, Texas on Highway 290, you might know Jenschke for their perfect peaches. Currently they have ripe strawberries for picking. The orchard is open from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 9-5pm and Sundays 1-5pm. The fields close at 4:30! It’s best to check their Facebook page for the latest updates.

–> Sweet Eats Fruit Farm

This fantastic “adventure farm” in Georgetown, TX has noted that they do not currently have fruit for picking, but we’re keeping this here so you can keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates. However, they do offer plenty of seasonal farm fun. Sweet Eats is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. –  6 p.m. with a huge petting zoo, giant jump pad, apple slingshots, pony rides, pedal carts, obstacle course, and many more activities that offer a hours of fun for kiddos. No fruit yet, but there are plenty of animals and activities to visit!

As with any farm visit, remember to wear closed-toe shoes or boots, and be sure to keep a courteous distance between any others on the farm.
