It’s always so exciting when our favorite places add something new! The Thinkery is taking trash and turning it into treasure with their upcoming exhibit called JUNK that will open on Saturday, Nov. 15. We can’t wait to check it out!

JUNK is a whimsical exploration of waste and recycling presented by the Thinkery in collaboration with guest artist Zach Dorn. This temporary exhibit will invite families to explore Junk City, a miniature metropolis created from discarded medicine cabinets, desk lamps, computer parts, Victorian dollhouses, and other re-purposed junk and found objects.

Junk City will take over 625 square feet in the Thinkery’s west gallery. The exhibit will also offer special activities, guest presenters, and storytimes.

Junk will run Nov. 15, 2014 through Jan. 25, 2015. On opening and closing day, Zach Dorn will perform an original live-projection puppet show, It Was the Coldest Year.

Stay tuned for more info about this exhibit and related special events. For now, mark your calendars for something new next month!
