A holiday tradition for Austin families, the Austin Steam Train’s two hour excursion takes place on a real train where each car is decorated for the season. Passengers enjoy a live reading of the North Pole Flyer book, the railroad’s own christmas story. Santa will spend time in each car to “check your list twice”, and pose for photographs before handing out a gift to each child to remember this special ride.

The North Pole Flyer runs on Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 17 through Dec. 9. On each date, the train departs at 8:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Families are encouraged to arrive 30-45 minutes prior to your departure time to get parked, boarded, and seated. Parties may be seated at shared tables, or in shared seating sections with other passengers. Private compartments are available for purchase by phone only. This ride is 2 hours round trip with no layover.

Tickets range from $45 – $55 which you can book online here or by calling 512-477-8468.

Please take note that this popular holiday tradition sells out each year! For questions, please check out the North Pole Flyer FAQ.
