If you’re not already planning to host a huge Thanksgiving feast at your house, why not head out and leave all the work to someone else? There are plenty of restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Austin, and many offer a special menu just for this delicious holiday. Some of these restaurants also offer take home meals that will bring the entire spread right to your family’s table.
We strongly suggest calling ahead before you head out to a restaurant. A lot of these places require reservations, and some fill up quickly. You can browse the full list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving, but here are a few turkey-filled, family-friendly spots that look particularly delicious…
— The Driskill: Check out a five-course menu featuring turkey, monkfish, prime tenderloin and many sides at this awesomely Austin location. You can reserve your table from 1- 5 p.m. Adults are $85 and children are $42. A family brunch is also available from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m in which adults are $72 & children are $36.
— Hoover’s Cooking: Hoover’s will be serving up a Thanksgiving feast with turkey and several sides, plus dressing, cranberry sauce, fruit salad and a bread basket for $18.49 per person.
— Hyatt Lost Pines: The Turkey Day buffet dishes up holiday favorites such as roasted turkey & cornbread stuffing, along with nontraditional fare such as shrimp, gulf coast oysters, ahi tuna, glazed ham, slow-roasted prime rib, as well as salads, sweet potato casserole and cranberry chutney. Enjoy a dessert bar with apple, pecan & pumpkin pies, red velvet cake, various cheesecakes, a fudge bar. The special meal is available from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and costs $55 for adults, $27 for children ages 6-12 and complimentary for 5 and under. Kids can also enjoy holiday-themed arts and crafts, kiddie train rides and more.
— Hyde Park Bar & Grill: Enjoy a classic Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. for $18.95 per person, $13.95 for a vegetarian meal and $10.95 for children 10 and under. Unlike many of the others, no reservations are accepted.
— Lakeway Resort: Families can enjoy a Thanksgiving brunch from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. with turkey, ham, prime rib, and many sides for $50 for adults and $20 for children 5-12. They will also have live music and a petting zoo for the kids from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
