If you’re looking for a camp where your kids can get rowdy (while being safe) in the great outdoors, then you need to check out the Expedition School. Located in East Austin next to Fiesta Gardens, the camp not only provides the opportunity for kids to kayak, canoe and SUP, but kids will also learn important lessons like how to protect the environment, along with safety instruction and medical training like CPR and basic first aid.
Camps are available for two age groups – ages 8 – 12 and ages 13 – 17. There are only two weeks left for the camp! So sign up your kiddo for either the week of July 14 – 18 or July 21 – 25. Older kids go to camp from 8 am – 3 pm and the younger crowd stay from 8 am – 12 pm. For ages 13 – 17, the cost is $299 and for ages 8 – 12, the cost is $199.
The itinerary includes a water safety day, a medical training day, mountain bike day, environmental steward day and an expedition day where kids go fishing and learn to set up a tent and backpack! Kids will come home sun kissed and bursting with outdoor knowledge and experience they can’t wait to share!
