Aspiring filmmakers will attend hands-on workshops led by industry pros. Campers will learn how to find and tell their own stories, as well as the basic steps in making films. They will have so much fun learning new skills and becoming inspired with new ideas!

Campers will also have the chance to participate in panel discussions with guest speakers who will inspire and teach kids about the bigger world of film.

In each session, kids will complete a short film. These films will premiere at the Summer Film Camp Showcase (location and times TBA), and they’ll receive a DVD copy of their project!

Travis Neely, who attended the camp in 2012, gained a world of confidence in his filmmaking skills by attending the camp.

“I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to grasp basic filmmaking concepts and would be a terrible student, but lo and behold, I learned substantially more about storytelling, cinematography, sound design, editing and the general process of filmmaking just by going to class for 4 hours a day for 10 days,” Neely said.

Neely also appreciated how all of the other campers were interested and helpful throughout the camp.

“Everybody in my group had a chance to do anything they wanted in making the film; write, edit, act, photograph, or direct. Most of us did a little bit of everything, as we were all interested in the filmmaking process and wanted to get a taste of each aspect that went into it,” Neely said.

Camp price ranges from $195 – $390, and is offered from June 9 – August 1. For more information and registration, click here. Don’t forget to save $10 with promo code Do512!
