Don’t pack away your pool bag just yet, friends! The Austin Parks and Recreation Department announced that Bartholomew Pool will now be operating on winter hours. The Austin City Council passed an increase in the budget that will allow us to keep splashing and swimming at Bartholomew Pool through the winter. Yay!
Bartholomew Pool is located at East 51st Street. It is now open for recreation and lap swimming during the following hours:
- Monday – Friday: 2 – 7 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 1 – 5 p.m.
Admission to Bartholomew Pool must be paid in cash. Fees for Austin residents are:
- Children (ages 1-11) – $1
- Juniors (ages 12-17) – $2
- Adults – $3
- Seniors (ages 62 and up) – $1.
Non-residents must add an extra $1 for each person for all age groups.
For more information, you can call the Aquatics department at 512-974-9332 or send an email to [email protected].
We went to Bartholomew Pool yesterday (Tuesday, Oct. 7), and they are open for lap swim only. I even called to confirm before heading over there, but we were not allowed in for recreation swim.
What the what? Thanks for letting us know. We’ll look into it and correct the information!
