Here in Central Texas, we often miss out on that classic winter weather that other parts of the country experience this time of year. Do your kids asking longingly for snow days like they read about in picture books? Luckily, there are lots of efforts put forth here in Austin to give a best attempt at creating some of these classic winter activities. There have been several chances to play in the snow this year. But did you know that you can also go out and enjoy some ice skating right now, too?
The Whole Foods Market Downtown location offers Ice Skating on the Plaza! Right up on their rooftop, you’ll find a little ice rink now through Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015.
Admission to Ice Skating on the Plaza is $10 per person and the skating rink is open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily (except for the holiday hours noted below). Shoe sizes range from 8 in Juniors to 14 in Mens.
Holiday Hours:
- 12/24, Christmas Eve, 11am-6pm
- 12/25, Christmas Day, CLOSED
- 12/31, New Year’s Eve, 11am-8pm
- 1/1, New year’s Day, 11am-7pm
Please note that the rink will be closed to the public at these times for private events:
- Monday, 12/22, from 11am-12pm
- Tuesday, 12/30, from 2pm-4pm
- Thursday, 1/8, from 4pm-5pm
