— Star Wars fans are in for a very special treat tonight when the Round Rock Express baseball team hosts a Star Wars theme night at the Dell Diamond. According to the Round Rock Express Facebook page, fans can expect to see Star Wars characters in attendance, enjoy a Star Wars theme throughout the game, the team will wear R2D2 jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game, edible Ewoks will be available at concessions, and you can watch a Star Wars-themed fireworks show after the game! — The Pecan Street Festival brings artisans, performers, food and fun to 24 city blocks in Austin’s Sixth Street Historic District for the 37th year! This longstanding Austin tradition is the most anticipated free, family and pet-friendly festivals year after year. And you can join the fun today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

— The 8th Annual Lake Travis SpringFest takes place at the Hill Country Galleria from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. SpringFest is a community festival filled with shopping, food, music and fun for the whole family. The KidZone is the size of a football field and is packed with inflatables and activities. You will also enjoy live music in the amphitheater, check out the latest in watercraft at the Boat Expo, and taste craft beers and Texas wines in the BrewHaus and WineStomp. You can also browse over seventy-five local vendor booths, too. Everyone is welcome, and admission and parking are free!

— Everyone’s invited to Keep Austin Well, Austin’s annual community health and wellness fair on the grounds of the Long Center. This free event takes place from noon – 4 p.m. and is hosted by Austin MD Magazine. You’ll find fitness classes, music, food trucks, vendors, and fun for the kids with bounce houses and face painting. While you’re there, you can also meet some of Austin’s best health care providers, receive on site medical exams and screenings, watch healthy living demonstrations ranging from cooking to yoga on the terrace and much more!

Austin Scottish Rite Theater’s newest production, Ashes, Ashes, opens today at 11 a.m. and runs through Saturday, May 23. Written by Eve Tulbert, this dystopian-themed play won the 2007 Kennedy Center Theatre for Youth Playwriting Award! Take note that you can get one free child’s ticket with purchase of tickets to Ashes, Ashes on May 2 or 3! Child tickets (ages 12 and under) are $8, and adult tickets (ages 13 and over) are $12. — Stop by the 2nd Annual CelebrASIA Austin: An Asian Pacific American Food and Heritage Festival today from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Asian American Resource Center. You can watch the exciting Battle of the Asian Food Trucks and vote for a winner. Enjoy cultural performances, a ukulele choir, hula and drumming. Kids can have fun with crafts, games, moon bounce, balloons and more. Free admission!

— Hip, hip hooray, it’s Free Comic Book Day! This takes place every year on the first Saturday in May, so head over to your favorite local comic store to pick up your very own FREE comic books! Click here to view a list of participating stores in the Austin area.

— It’s Family Day at UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum! Enjoy yoga, story time,  and music. Plus, kids can make clay creations, papel picado and more. Free!

—  ZACH Theatre’s new bilingual adaptation of Cinderella, Cenicienta, is getting great reviews from kids and parents! This Spanish/English version of the classic fairy tale, is infused with puppetry, Mexican culture and humor. Great for kids ages 5 and up. — Gather at Simmons Family Farms to eat, sing, hoot and holler while enjoying a terrific lineup of bluegrass bands from 1-9:30 p.m. for Farmgrass Fest. All the proceeds from the festival will go to the emergency medical fund for farmers in central Texas. Click here to check out the music schedule. Children can enjoy parkour, yoga, hula hooping, face-painting, and more in the Kids Area. Kids under age 12 are FREE to attend with their adults.
