Have you been tuned into the Weather Channel with fingers crossed that the rain doesn’t interrupt any of your awesome Halloween plans? We sure have! It looks like a strong chance for heavy rain on Friday, Oct. 30, but we’re staying positive that all is clear and dry for Halloween night. But to be prepared, we wanted to share plenty of ideas for indoor Halloween fun so that we’ll all be covered no matter what Mother Nature throws our way.

Halloween Hootenanny @ The Thinkery
Friday, October 30, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Whether you come dressed as a paleontologist, superhero, princess, or a buzzing bee you will love doing spooky science with us! The evening’s spooktastic line up includes exploding pumpkins, vomiting pumpkins and smoking pumpkins, Thriller dance lessons, owl pellet dissections, glow-in-the-dark slime, a costume contest and more. Spooktacular @ The Bullock Museum
Friday, October 30, 5-8 p.m.
Explore the Bullock after hours at this family-friendly Halloween extravaganza, featuring performances, games, interactive activities, art, and more. This year’s program will introduce children and their families to Texas “creepy crawlies” through activities and special screenings of Flight of the Butterflies in the IMAX Theatre. Get hands-on with spooky science from Girlstart and show off your Halloween costume for a special prize. Free event!

Halloween Lock-in @ Blazer Tag
Drop the kids (ages 13 and up) off at 11 p.m. on Friday, October 30 and pick them up at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 31. They can enjoy a whole night of unlimited laser tag, prizes and plenty of fun activities. The Halloween Lock-In costs $21.95, or $16.95 for groups of 10 or more. Sinister Circus Halloween Carnival @ Northwest Recreation Center

Come one come all, step right up to the main event of the year under the Northwest Big Top! You’re invited to this free, interactive event with treats, kid and family-friendly activities, and dancing as we celebrate kindness, strengths, treasures, and creativity! Wear your Halloween costumes to this exciting storytime presented by the Paramount Theatre. There will be story-telling, literacy activities, sweet treats, a costume contest, and even a witch-hat craft! Storytime will be in the amphitheater, featuring stories full of monsters, ghosts, and witches (but none of them will be too scary). Then, after storytime, join the costume parade around the store, and then kids can get their treat — a free book to bring home! Halloween Comic Fest @ Titan Moon Comics

It’s a day full of free comics, candy, guest artists, a costume contest and store-wide sales for comic and Halloween fans to experience together. During Halloween ComicFest, 21 full-sized and mini comics will be available for anyone who wants to participate.

Halloween Storytelling with Bernadette Nason @ Austin Playhouse at ACC’s Highland Campus

Join Bernadette Nason for a creepy compilation of exciting scary stories to celebrate Halloween.
