— If you always wanted to take your kiddo to Fun Fun Fun Fest but were worried they just wouldn’t be that into the bands, worry no more! Come with the whole family and check out our Do512 Family Fun Lab, a special tent open from 12 – 8 p.m. each day of the Fest that will be full of science and art demos, fake tats and piercings, chemistry shows, 3D printers, a kids’ beard competition and much more. — Bring your little ones to the Long Center for Pollyanna Theatre Company’s newest production for very young children (ages 2-4) — Under the Big Top! Join characters Max and Landon as they become circus animals, try out some tricks and learn a few things about friendship. You can participate in this fun theatre experience today at 9:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. (or the same times tomorrow!) Tickets are $6 and are available online here or by calling (512) 743-7966.

— It’s time to pull out your broomsticks, dust off your wands, practice your magic spells and head over to the Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-in (through Nov. 22) for Harry Potter Fest! All wizards and muggles are welcome to join the fun and watch all films in the series. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be quizzes, prizes, specialty candy and treats, such as butter beer and chocolate frogs! Tonight’s show includes Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone & Chamber of Secrets, beginning at 7:15 p.m.  There are several pricing options for tickets. — Bring the kids to the Austin Nature & Science Center in Zilker Park from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for their Fall Festival! Enjoy some outdoor fun as you explore the nature preserve on a guided hike and checking out animals, reptiles, owls and more. Free and fun for all ages. This event will be held rain or shine. Show your appreciation for the animals who live at the Center by donating one of their favorite items such as dry dog food, woodchip bedding, tennis balls and fish flakes.

— Head out to the grounds of the Texas School for the Deaf and enjoy races, music, food trucks and festival games with proceeds that benefit both the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation and Heal Kenya. Everyone of all ages — deaf and hearing — is invited. The Halloween Festival was originally rained out last weekend, but will now take place on this new date from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. with free admission, and $1 tickets sold on-site for carnival games, inflatables, and more.

— The 24th Annual Austin Powwow happens today from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. at the Toney Burger Center. This family-friendly event includes native drums, dancing, storytelling, food, crafts and artists exhibits.  Ceremonial processions will occur at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. & 6 p.m., and dancers and drum groups will perform there throughout the day and evening. There is a $5 entry fee per adult (includes parking), and kids 18 and under are free.

— The 19th Annual Austin Celtic Festival is taking place at Fiesta Gardens today and tomorrow from noon – 7:30 p.m. with plenty of fun for the whole family. Celebrate the cultures of Celtic nations such as Ireland and Scotland with four stages of traditional music and dance as well as storytelling, animals, music workshops and a full Highland Games competition. Tickets will not be sold at the gate, so you can purchase them in advance online here. Kids ages 12 and under are free! A weekend pass is $30 or you can buy Saturday or Sunday-only tickets for $18.

— You can check out the Round Rock Día de los Muertos procession and festival at Prete Main Street Plaza today from 4-9 p.m. Free! There will be crafts and activities for kids and art, craft and food vendors. San Antonio-based Las Monas Performance Group, which includes giant, interactive puppets, will also be at the event. Participants are encouraged to dress up and join the procession to be part of the celebration.

School Fair ATX happens today from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. where you can learn about 75+ preschools, private schools, alternative, homeschooling groups and enrichment programs from all over the Austin area.  This event will take place in both the Ben Hur Shrine Temple and Toybrary Austin (located next to each other), where there will also be plenty of fun activities for the kids, too! This event is FREE with RSVP and a donation of either 2 gently used books or 1 new book to be collected for BookSpring, a local children’s literacy nonprofit.

— Don’t pack up the Halloween costumes just yet! Kids have one more chance to wear them at the Paramount Theatre at 2 p.m. during a performance of “Room on the Broom”,  a family play based on the book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.
