Do512 Family - What to do in Austin with Kids

2016 CASA Superhero Run

On Sunday, September 18, you can be a superhero for children who’ve been abused or neglected at the 2016 CASA Superhero Run. The whole family can participate in the 5K and Kids 1K at The Domain Central Park. This event also includes a superhero costume contest, an obstacle course, bounce house, special superhero guest appearances and lots of special family activities!

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) believes all kids deserve the chance to grow up healthy and happy so that they can become superhero adults too. CASA speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. The Superhero Run supports CASA programs of Travis, Williamson, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe & Hays Counties.

Not a runner? No problem! We are not exactly runners ourselves, but we participate every year, and have the best time. It’s actually peachy keen to walk or jog the course. (Just take note that if you’re not running, please move further back when staging at the start line to make sure the runners get a quick start.) And if you can’t be present at the event, you can click here to donate and be a superhero from afar.

In addition to a superhero-themed 5K and Kids 1K, the event also includes plenty of exciting activities. Kids will enjoy the costume contests, an ultimate superhero obstacle course, a high-flying heroic aerial performance, the opportunity to take photos with the Batmobile & Transformers Bumblebee car, play on bounce houses, enjoy free food and drinks and more!
