Round Rock’s Centennial Plaza will transform into a super cool arts festival on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 at the annual Chalk Walk! Hosted by Round Rock Arts Council, this event is FREE and open to the public. During the Chalk Walk, artists create works of art on the concrete using chalk pastels right before your eyes. In addition to the amazing art, families are invited to check out hands-on kids activities, live music, food vendors and more.
- Friday, September 30: 5 – 10 p.m.
- Saturday, October 1: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
— Music: There are multiple performing stages, with a lineup of entertainment to appeal to both kids and adults. Dale Watson will perform a free concert on Friday night at 8 p.m. on the main stage. On Saturday, you’ll find children’s favorite, Joe McDermott at 12 p.m., and you can also see performances from the East Side Dandies, Round Rock Ballet Folklorico, the Round Rock Community Choir and many more. — Activities: In addition to the really talented chalk artists you’ll see, you can also plan to check out street performers, a Kids Fun Area with chalk art, free crafts, games, activities, LEGOS, sping art, face painting and balloon animals.
— New this Year: The inaugural “Chalk Walk High School Food Truck Battle” will feature teams of culinary students from area high schools and the Art Institute of Austin team up for the battle of ultimate flavor supremacy.
