— The Midway Food Park is a great place to grab dinner, chill out with the family and enjoy a fun night outdoors. Tonight from 6-8:30 p.m. Boss Street Band will have the kids up on their feet with their New Orleans funk and jazz. Free.
— Austin’s original fine arts festival, Art City Austin, kicks off tonight and runs through Sunday. This juried art show includes over 200 local & nationally recognized artists along with live music and kids activities. This year, the event will be held at the Palmer Events Center for more parking, more shade & indoor restrooms. One-day general admission tickets are only $10 and kids ages 12 & under are free! — Celebrate spring with live music, food, shopping, kids activities and tons of family fun at the 9th Annual Lake Travis SpringFest from 10 a.m. – 6.m. at the Hill Country Galleria. This free community festival features a KidZone that’s packed with inflatables and activities. You can enjoy live music in the amphitheater, check out a Boat Expo, and taste craft beers and Texas wines and browse over ninety-five local vendor booths.
— The YMCA of Austin invites you to a free Family Play Day in Mueller Lake Park from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Enjoy active games, inflatables, a family 1K race and more. Kids ages 4-14 will enjoy enrichment activities and games alongside their parents.
— Celebrate a little bit of Austin’s lovably weird, free-spirit culture at the iconic spring event, Eeyore’s Birthday Party! You can head to Pease Park for the free, day-long event from 11 a.m. until dark with the children’s area open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Games, face painting, henna and temporary tattoos, live music, drum circles, and costumes. — Get ready to snake, rattle and roll at the Lone Star Rattlesnake Days event at the Travis County Expo Center. From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. today (10 a.m. – 4 p.m. tomorrow), this event includes hundreds of live snakes on exhibit, activities and games for the kids, talks on rattlesnake safety, biology and conservation from educators, zoo professionals and biologists specializing in the field of herpetology. Admission is $10 for ages 12 & up, $5 for ages 5-11, and free for kids under 5.
— Learn about the The Biodiversity of Texas through an interactive, educational, theatrical performance. The Waller Creek Conservancy invites all ages to Palm Park from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for this one-hour presentation that takes the audience on a journey through five Texas ecosystems and briefly goes back in time to see what Austin was like 100 million years ago. This event is free and open to the public with activities and booths presented by Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, COA’s Wildland Conservation Division, Capital Area Master Naturalists, and TreeFolks. The performance begins at 11 a.m.
— Stop by the Bullock Museum today from 12 – 3 p.m. for their H-E-B Free First Sunday. Take advantage of free admission all day as well as hands-on fun with fossils, make sun prints with native Texas plants, learn how to take a great nature photograph and much more.
— It’s the last Sunday Funday of the season at Neill-Cochran House Museum. Today from 1-4 p.m. you can stop by for free tours of the historic house as well as free activities for the kids. Enjoy hands-on electrical experiments and demonstrations, scavenger hunts, old-time music, and picnicking under the shade of our porch and trees!
— See Alice in Wonderland at ZACH Theatre at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. In this unique adaption, the audience starts in the theatre and then follows Alice around ZACH’s campus on an adventure, meeting familiar characters, and helping to defeat the Red Queen. Tickets are $18 for youth and $23 for adults, which you can purchase online here or by calling ZACH’s box office at 512-476-0541 x1.
