— It’s opening night of Charlotte’s Web at ZACH Theatre. Based on the classic book by E.B. White, this heartwarming children’s play will transport us to Zuckerman’s Farm with Fern, Wilbur and Charlotte and also features bluegrass music and aerial artists from Sky Candy. Tonight’s show is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $16 and can be purchased online here or by calling the Box Office at 512-476-0541 x1. (The show runs through Saturday, December 3.)
— Head over to the Mueller Lake Park Amphitheater for a free Texas Tea Party & Movie Night featuring a screening of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland at dusk. Arrive between 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. for a meet and greet with Alice and the Mad Hatter before the show. There will also be complimentary Starbucks ice tea and tea cookies while supplies last. Tea party attire is encouraged! Grab your friends, family & blankets for a fun evening under the stars.
— The whole family can enjoy the annual, authentic German Oktoberfest at the German Free School of Austin today from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. You’ll find plenty of beer, food and music. And kids can enjoy a magic show, face painting, balloons, games and more. Admission is $10 for adults. Kids ages 12 & under are free.
— Rise and shine and get those feet walking for a great cause this morning at the Travis County Expo Center. Join the Austin community for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. There will be live entertainment, refreshments, & fun for the whole family to follow. Click here to register.
— Check out the Día de los Muertos Music Festival at Fiesta Gardens from 3-10 p.m. This cultural experience features live music, performances, art, a kid’s zone, food and drinks. Join an altar contest, dance with Austin Samba School and rock out to the amazing bands. General admission tickets are $30, which you can purchase here. Kids ages 6 & under get in free.
— It’s Harry Potter Weekend at the Bullock Museum IMAX Theatre. Today and tomorrow, you can see all 8 Harry Potter movies in IMAX® with Laser. Adult tickets are $12 and children’s tickets are $9 per film. Click here to purchase your tickets and view the schedule.
— Take a visit to Barton Hill Farms Fall Festival & Corn Maze where you can navigate a corn maze, pick out pumpkins, go on a mini-train ride, play games, listen to live music and enjoy plenty of fall fun with the family! Barton Hill Farms will be open through November 13 on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. General admission is $14 and includes all of the activities available. — Ashley’s Playhouse is hosting their annual Fall Fun Festival. You can stop by this North Austin play center from 1-4 p.m. for free family activities — bounce houses, giant Jenga, bubbles, APH tours, indoor and outdoor play, snacks, and paint your own Trick or Treat tote (for the first 100 kids), giveaways and more.
— Stop by the Center for Creative Action for Community Art Sunday! From 2-5 p.m., you can enjoy free family activities that combine food, art, and cultural learning. Make mooncakes, try a baby-parent dance class, jump on Springfree Trampolines, create a communal Mandala with canned food and enjoy free snacks and drinks from Oskar Blues Brewery Austin (for mom & dad).
