— Go check out some really cool light-based art installations part of Creek Show from 6-10 p.m., on Waller Creek between 5th & 8th Streets. Presented by the Waller Creek Conservancy, Creek Show 2016 is a way to celebrate Waller Creek and bring awareness to the future transformation coming to the creek. It’s free to check out and will be up through November 19. Tonight and tomorrow night, the Thinkery will be on hand from 6 – 8 p.m. at Sabine Tree Deck with stations for kids to have fun with circuit blocks & glowing bubbles.
— The Texas Stars hockey team are hosting Military Appreciation Weekend. You can see them play against the San Jose Barracuda today at 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Fans can save $12 dollars off a pair of tickets to every Friday home game with a Texas Stars Two-Pack. Click here for ticket info.
— See the treasures of King Tut at a new exhibit at the Texas Museum of Science & Technology in Cedar Park. Tutankhamun: Wonderful Things From the Pharoh’s Tomb includes 131 replicas of the pharaoh’s possessions such as the state chariot, throne, jewelry, mummy case, and the bejeweled royal mummy. Tickets may be purchased online here or at the box office. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors & youth (12-17), and $12 for children aged 5-11. — It’s the final weekend to visit to Barton Hill Farms Fall Festival & Corn Maze where you can navigate a corn maze, go on a mini-train ride, play games, listen to live music and more! — It’s time again for the annual East Austin Studio Tour! E.A.S.T. celebrates Austin’s creative community with free, self-guided art events happening this weekend as well as next weekend (Nov. 19-20th). Art galleries and various spaces all over east Austin will open up their doors for you to check out live music, libations, and tons of great art. All free! — It’s time for the 11th Annual Carnival O’ Pizza at Home Slice Pizza from 12-7 p.m. Kids of all ages will have fun with over-the-top pizza-themed activities, carnival-inspired games, music, dancing, a photo booth, contests and prizes! Free admission, tickets for games will be sold on site.
— All are welcome at the Round Rock Diwali Festival from 3-10 p.m. in Centennial Plaza. There will be music, Indian food, and lots of dancing. Instructors will be there to teach the Garba Dance, and you can also shop colorful handmade crafts, clothing and jewelry from India. Free admission.
— Pssst, this one’s for you, Moms. ModCloth is opening their first store here in Austin’s 2ND Street District with a spectacular all-day Grand Opening Celebration featuring live music, beauty bars, crafting workshops and more. — Remember the meaning of Veteran’s Day at the Texas Military Forces Museum. Their annual Close Assault 1944 program features demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. as well as the opportunity to view tanks, jeeps, and other vehicles and equipment from World War II. This is a free event, and the museum will be open to the public from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
— Take the kids to see Charlotte’s Web at ZACH Theatre. Based on the classic book by E.B. White, this heartwarming children’s play features bluegrass music and aerial artists from Sky Candy. Catch the performance today at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $16 and can be purchased online here or by calling the Box Office at 512-476-0541 x1. (The show runs through Saturday, December 3.)
